Springfield Fire Company participated in the 2002 Open House for the Springfield Ambulance Corps on Sunday, May 19th.  The event is held each year to give residents the opportunity to see the people and equipment that make up the Springfield Ambulance Corps.

The Springfield Ambulance Corps, Springfield Police Department, Springfield Fire Company, Springfield Hospital Paramedic Unit and Springfield Hospital all participated in the Open House.

The Fire Company was involved in the Vehicle Rescue Demonstration to show the skills used by the members of the Fire Company and Ambulance Corps when responding on Motor Vehicle Accidents.  Both organizations work side-by-side to rescue and care for the victims in these situations.

The Fire Company also set-up a Landing Zone for PennStar, the Medical Helicopter from the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania.   Everyone was able to see the helicopter up close and talk to the flight crew about their duties.

The event was another success for the Ambulance Corps and all the organizations invited to participate in the Open House.
