Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Sunday, December 15th, at 14:14 hours for a Structure Fire at 201 South Swarthmore Avenue.  Upon arrival of Engine 44-1 and Swarthmore Police, smoke was showing from the rear of the three story dwelling.   Engine 44-1 went into service with an 1 3/4" hoseline and started an interior attack in the first floor kitchen area.  Residents were using a garden hose to try and fight the fire before the fire department arrived.

Chief 44-9 established command and had the full first alarm assignment dispatched which brought Company 14 (Swarthmore), Company 13 (Rutledge) and Company 11 (Morton) to the scene.

Engine 44-2 laid a 5" Supply Line from Yale Square and South Swarthmore Avenue to Engine 44-1, while Engine 13-2 hooked up to the hydrant.   Firefighters from all four companies assisted on the scene with manpower.
