Greater Springfield Business Association 5K Run/Walk
Springfield Fire Company participated in the 2002 Greater Springfield Business Association 5K Run/Walk on October 20. This was the second year for the race. The event supports the Delaware County Hero Scholarship Fund and the Springfield Township Fund for the Elderly.
Tower 44 provided an aerial view of the Start/Finish Line. Springfield Ambulance Corps was also in attendance with members stationed throughout the course and on bicycles to provide assistance to any runners or walkers during the race.
The winner of the race was Robert Lythgoe, 24, of Lester, PA, son of Tinicum Township Police Chief Lythgoe. Congratulations to all the participants.
