Chief 44-9 established command and Engine 44-2 laid a 5" supply line into the scene from Baltimore Pike and West Avenue.  Firefighters from Engine 44-2 advanced an 1 3/4" hoseline through the rear kitchen area of the building into the basement.  Firefighters encountered heavy smoke and a high heat condition.

Tower 44 positioned on Baltimore Pike in front of the building.   Firefighters assisted Engine 44-2's crew and started laddering the building.   Firefighters from Tower 44 and TAC-44 ventilated the roof in the area of the kitchen.

A second alarm assignment was dispatched which brought Clifton Heights (Company 03) and Felton Hose and Chemical Company (Company 47) for the Canteen Unit.

Ambulance 44-7, 44-7A and Ambulance 03-7 set-up rehab at scene and transported two personnel.  One Firefighter from Company 03 and one Fire Police officer from Company 44 were transported to Springfield Hospital for observation.

Firefighters contained the fire to the basement area of the restaurant.  The entire structure sustained smoke damage.  The cause of the fire is under investigation by Springfield Township's Fire Marshal and it appears to be electrical in nature.

Firefighters remained on the scene until 23:25 hours.
