Firefighters Assist Police Department at CVS Store

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Tuesday, June 5th at 05:39 hours to the CVS Store, 344 Baltimore Pike to Assist the Springfield Police Department.

Springfield Police had been on the scene since 01:40 hours, investigating a fatal shooting of the CVS store night manager.  The Police Department had requested assistance from the Fire Company to gain access to the roof area of the CVS store and surrounding buildings.  Firefighters also assisted police officers in checking the properties around the CVS store.   The homicide was the first in the history of the national CVS chain and the first in Springfield Township since October 30th, 1985 at the Springfield Mall.

Firefighters remained on the scene until 07:39 hours.
