Three Car Accident on West Woodland Avenue Traps Onewoodlandjames-1.jpg (78011 bytes)

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on July 24th at 15:46 hours, along with Springfield Ambulance and Springfield Hospital Paramedic 106, to West Woodland Avenue and James Road for a Motor Vehicle Accident.  Medic 106 was the first to arrive on the scene and advised Fire Chief Robert Woolson (44-9) that there was four injuries and one entrapment.

Chief Woolson had the call upgraded to a Motor Vehicle Accident with Entrapment.  Springfield Firefighters used the Hurst woodlandjames-2.jpg (92706 bytes)Rescue Tools to remove one door and the roof of the vehicle to assist with removing the trapped occupant.

Firefighters assisted ambulance crews with removing the patient, who was then transported to Crozer Chester Medical Center's Trauma Unit.   Another person was also transported to Crozer's Trauma Unit and the remaining injured were taken to Springfield Hospital.

Springfield Firefighters remained on the scene until 16:46 hours when all the vehicles were removed from the roadway.

Units operating at the scene:  TAC-44, Rescue 44, Springfield Ambulance 44-7 and 44-7A, Medic 106, Medic 101 (Crozer/Keystone Supervisor), Medic 104-7 (Riddle Memorial Hospital), Ambulance 23-7 (Media Fire Company) and Springfield Police and Fire Police.
