Bullard Thermal Imaging Camera Placed into Service The Springfield Fire Company now has two Thermal
Imaging Cameras in service. Already in service for one month is a new Bullard
Thermal Imaging Camera that was purchased by the Springfield Ambulance Corps. as a housing
gift at our Ceremony on September 25th, 1999 for the new Sutphen Tower and Tactical Unit. The Bullard Thermal Imager is currently in service on Engine 44-1 along with the MSA Argus Camera. The new Bullard Camera also has the added feature of a remote transmitter, so that the images viewed by the firefighters using the camera can be transmitted to a TV monitor on Engine 44-1 and Rescue 44. These remote monitoring screens will be in service in the near future. The members received training with the new camera back in January and the camera has already been used several times for different emergencies. Members of Springfield Fire Company worked with the members of the Springfield Ambulance Corps. to pick out the best Thermal Imager for our needs. Springfield Fire Company would like to thank the Springfield Ambulance Corps. for this donation. Because of this piece of equipment, the Citizens of Springfield Township are receiving an even higher level of fire protection. |
