TAC 44 In Service

The New 1999 Sutphen Rescue / Pumper went into service as TAC-44 on Saturday, June 19th at 12:00hrs.  After receiving all of it's vehicle identification lettering and being equipped by the members, the apparatus was ready for service.

Replacing the 1989 Ford / American Eagle Tactical Unit, this vehicle is the first responding apparatus on all motor vehicle incidents and miscellaneous fires in Springfield Township and I-476.  This includes: motor vehicle accidents, vehicle fires, brush fires, fuel spills, trash fires, wires down and all other miscellaneous incidents.

These piece of apparatus will handle approximately 60% of the emergencies in Springfield Township during a given year. 

A housing ceremony will be held to house the two new pieces of apparatus on September 25, 1999.  Continue to check the web site for more information on this upcoming event.
