Close Call in Front of Station

On Monday night, May 17th around 21:30 hours, a driver lost
control of her vehicle and struck the PECO Utility pole located across the street from the
Springfield Fire Company and Ambulance Corp. building. The downed pole knocked out
power to a large number of residents and businesses in
Springfield Township. The driver
received only minor injuries. Because of the time of the accident, it was very
fortunate that no one was seriously injured as the softball fields located behind the
accident scene are full of ball players and spectators everyday of the week. The
Springfield Fire Company stood by until PECO Energy crews arrived and secured the scene.
Power was restored to all residents and businesses around midnight.
