Firefighters Contain Dryer Fire
Springfield Firefighters were awakened early Monday morning, October 18th, at 01:11 hours for a House Fire at 224 Sedgewood Road. Upon arrival of Engine 44-1, smoke was visible throughout the structure and the homeowner was reporting a fire in the basement. Crews entered the structure and found a fire in the basement involving a dryer appliance. Crews quickly extinguished the fire and contained the fire to the area around the dryer. Crews from Engine 44-1, Tower 44, Engine 44-2 performed overhaul and salvage operations, checked for any fire extension and used Ventilation Fans to clear the smoke from the structure.
Ambulance 44-7 checked out all the residents for possible smoke inhalation, but no one required treatment. Firefighters remained on the scene until 02:11 hours.
