Fire Damages Cooking Equipment

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched at 07:00 hours on Sunday morning, October 17th, for a Building Fire at 100 Baltimore Pike (Dunkin Donuts).  First arriving units had smoke showing from the roof area.  Crews entered the building and found a Deep Frying Unit had caught fire.  Crews from 44-1 and Tower 44 shut down the piece of equipment and shut off Natural Gas service to the building.  Firefighters used the Thermal Imaging Camera to check for any fire extension into the ceiling and roof area of the building.  The fire was contained to the Deep Frying unit.

Units responding to the incident: Engine 44-1, Tower 44, Engine 44-2 and Springfield Ambulance 44-7.

Firefighters remained on the scene until 08:00 hours.
