Engine 44-4 was delivered to Springfield Fire Company in April of 1995 and was placed into service on June 10, 1995..  The 1995 Sutphen Engine was the first responding apparatus for all structure fires in Springfield Township until being replaced in 2004 by the 2004 Sutphen Engine.  The 1995 Sutphen then became Engine 44-4.  Engine 44-4 is the second out apparatus on all non-building fire responses behind TAC 44 and is the apparatus used for all Rapid Intervention Team responses.

Some of the features of this unit are:

1500 GPM Hale Mid-ship Single Stage Pump, 750 Gallon Water Tank, 1500' 5" Supply Hose, 300'  3 1/2" Supply Hose, 300'  2 1/2", 2 - 200' 1 3/4" preconnected rear hose lines, 1 - 300' 1 3/4" preconnected crosslay hose line, 1 - 200' 2 1/2" preconnected crosslay hose line, 2 - 250' 1" booster hose lines, 7 person crew cab, 10 kilowatt water cooled generator, hydraulic ladder rack, 24' extension ladder, 14' ground/roof ladder, 10' folding/attic ladder, 8' folding/attic ladder
