Engine 44-3 was the last piece of fire apparatus Springfield Fire Company used that had a totally open cab.  Utilized as a water supply piece, the piece of equipment supplied the water for many historic fires in Springfield Township and surrounding communities.  Now a retired piece of apparatus, 44-3 is still used by the members of Company 44 for parades, drills and funerals.  mdp44-3.jpg (22841 bytes)Repowered with a Detroit Deisel Engine and refurbished in 1980, 44-3 will have a lasting memory in the minds of past, present and future members of Springfield Fire Company.  This unit features:

1250 gpm Hale Mid-Ship Two Stage Pump, 310 Gallon capacity Water Tank, Front Suction/Intake, Two Hard Suctions for Drafting, 2400'  3 1/2" Supply Hose, 150'  1 1/2" Preconnected Crosslay Hoseline, 200'  1 1/2" Preconnected Crosslay Hoseline, 250'   3/4" Booster Hoseline, 24' Extension Ladder, 12' Ground / Roof Ladder
