Animal Oxygen Masks Donated to Fire Company
Springfield Fire Company received a very generous donation of animal oxygen masks from Dr. Stephanie McKeta, physical therapist of Keystone Rehabilitation Services of Homer City, PA. The animal oxygen masks can be used by emergency responders to help with resuscitation and treatment of animals suffering from smoke inhalation or other respiratory emergencies.
Dr, McKeta has been donating the animal oxygen masks to fire departments and EMS providers since the untimely death of her beloved dog Max in January of 2006. Dr. McKeta wanted to give back to the community for "Max's Mission" and she is just happy to help aid emergency responders in the event that someone's family pet needs resuscitation. Firefighter Anthony Cipollone made initial contact with Dr. McKeta after hearing about her cause and, in memory of his beloved dog Spike, assisted in making the trip and donation happen.
Springfield Fire Company was very thankful for Dr. McKeta's donation and the Fire Company plans on distributing more animal oxygen masks to surrounding Fire Departments and EMS units in the memory of Max.
