Accident with Fire on North Avenue

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched early Thursday morning, September 20th, at 03:35 hours to the 1000 Block of North Avenue for a Motor Vehicle Accident with Fire.  Upon arrival of Springfield Police, one vehicle had struck a utility pole and the engine compartment was involved in fire.

TAC 44 arrived on location and went into service with an 1 3/4" hose line.  Firefighters were able to quickly control the fire.  The driver of the vehicle was out of the car prior to emergency services personnel arriving on the scene.

Firefighters remained on location until 04:35 hours.
