Springfield Responds to David's Bridal

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched, along with RIT 23 (Media) and RIT 43 (Holmes), at 2150 hours to David's Bridal, 965 Baltimore Pike, on Saturday evening February 18th for the Building Fire. Workers inside the store had an odor of something burning inside a rear storage room area.
Chief 44-9A arrived on location reporting a smell of rubber burning. Firefighters from Engine 44-1 and Tower 44 checked the interior of the building with thermal imaging cameras while Snorkel 23 (Media) checked the roof area. The odor was from a malfunctioning heating unit on the roof. The rooftop units were secured and building maintenance was notified.
Company 44 returned to station at 2250 hours.
