RIT 44 Responds to 2 Alarm Fire in Lansdowne

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Friday, December 19th, at 10:40 hours to assist Lansdowne Fire Company (Company 19) with the Rapid Intervention Team on a two alarm house fire at 75 East Stewart Avenue in Lansdowne Borough.  Initial units responding to the call, encountered fire showing from the first floor front and rear of a large 2 1/2 story residence.

Landowne Command had requested a second alarm assignment and a second RIT Company to stand by on the fireground.  Rescue 44 and Chief 44-9 responded with seven firefighters.  Upon arrival, the crew gathered up the RIT equipment and staged on the front side of the dwelling.  RIT 44 members did a walk around of the dwelling to size up the dwelling and also to note all operations that were in service.

RIT 44 stood by for approximately one hour while the fire was brought under control.  There was no services required by the RIT Team during the incident and Landowne Command returned RIT 44 at 11:40 hours.
