Apartment Fire in Media Borough

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched, along with Company 23 (Media), Company 73 (Rose Tree), Company 51 (South Media) and Company 41 (Newtown Square - RIT), on Thursday, December 10th at 08:00 hours to 313 East Jefferson Street, Media Borough, for a Building Fire. Company 23 was initially dispatched to the same location for a Fire Alarm, then the call was upgraded by County 911 after receiving 911 calls reporting a fire.
Engine 23-2 and Quint 73 arrived on location and had smoke showing from the first floor of a three story apartment building. Tower 44 arrived on location and conducted a primary search of the apartments on the first and second floors. Firefighters were able to quickly contain the fire inside one apartment on the first floor.
Firefighters assisted with ventilation and overhaul operations. The fire is under investigation by Media Borough Fire Marshal's Office.
Firefighters from Company 44 remained on the scene until 09:00 hours. The fire is under investigation by Media Borough Fire Marshal's Office.
Companies operating on the scene were: Company 23, Company 73, Company 44, Company 51, Cmopany 41, Company 50 (Middletown), Company 65 (Garden City) and EMS units from Company 23 and Riddle Hospital.
