Ambulance Corps Shocks Fire Company with Gift
|
Springfield Ambulance Corps shocked Springfield Fire Company with a gift on Sunday, December 6th, literally. The gift was an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) donated by the Ambulance Corps for the Fire Company to have at the Fire Station. An AED is used by emergency responders in cardiac arrest situations to help shock the heart back into a normal beating rhythm.
The AED presented to the Fire Company is the same type of AED that the Ambulance Corps recently donated to the Springfield School District and Springfield Township for use in numerous building throughout the Township. Presenting the AED to Springfield Fire Company Lieutenant Joseph Fraatz is Springfield Ambulance Corps Recording Secretary Anne LeTourneau, who is also a member of Springfield Fire Company, and EMT Betsy Mason.
Springfield Fire Company would like to thank Springfield Ambulance Corps for this invaluable and life saving gift. With this AED, Springfield Fire Company now has an AED on all the Fire Company's fire apparatus and one inside the Fire Station.
