RIT Response to Collingdale for Dwelling Fire

Springfield Firefighters were dispatched for the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) on Friday, November 27th, at 19:15 hours, to assist Company 06 (Collingdale # 1) and Company 42 (Collingdale # 2) in the 1000 Block of Hansen Place, Collingdale Borough, for a Dwelling Fire. Upon arrival of Collingdale PD and Engine 42-1, fire was showing from the first floor of a two story twin dwelling.
Rescue 44 arrived on the scene and set-up the RIT equipment on side "A" of the dwelling. Springfield's RIT Officer requested a second RIT Company out of Station 44. Engine 44-4 responded as the second RIT and set-up on side "C" of the dwelling.
Firefighters had the fire under control within one hour and were in service for an extended period of time with overhaul and salvage operations. Company 04 (Darby) was dispatched to assist on the fire ground.
Springfield's RIT teams were held on the scene by Collingdale Command until 21:00 hours.
