Spending Some Time in the 7th District

On Saturday, November 14th, Springfield Firefighters spent some quality time roaming around the 7th District of Delaware County.  The morning started off around 06:05 hours with Rescue 44 due on a Cover-Up Assignment to Station 19 (Lansdowne).  Company 19 and surrounding companies were operating at a house fire in the unit block of Ardmore Avenue in Lansdowne Borough.  Firefighters on Rescue 44 stood by at Station 19 for two hours and assisted members from Company 19 with restoring their apparatus before returning to Station 44.

Later on in the day, around 17:30 hours, Springfield Firefighters manned Tower 44 and Engine 44-4 on a Cover-Up Assignment at Station 03 (Clifton Heights).  Company 03 members were enjoying their annual company banquet being held at the Oaks banquet facility.  During the evening, the Box Alarm assignment was dispatched for the Lansdowne Station Apartments, 504 South Lansdowne Avenue in Yeadon Borough for an Apartment Fire.  Tower 44 and Engine 44-4 responded and arrived on scene with Engine 16-1 and Ladder 19.  A small fire was contained to the kitchen area of one apartment.  Firefighters stood by on the scene for approximately 15 minutes before being recalled by Company 16 Command.

Springfield Firefighters returned to Station 03 and enjoyed a quiet evening of watching some football and select movie classics.  Tower 44 and Engine 44-4 returned to Station 44 at 23:30 hours.
