Accident After a Phillies Game 5 Win

About two hours after a great Phillies win in Game 5 of the World Series, Springfield Firefighters were awaken with a call in the 1000 Block of North Avenue for a Motor Vehicle Accident with a car striking a utility pole.  Chief 44-9B arrived with Police and found a single vehicle accident involving a PECO Utility pole.  The single occupant of the vehicle required medical attention and was treated by EMS personnel from Ambulance 44-7 and Medic 106.

Firefighters from Engine 44-4 secured all the hazards on the scene and stood by until PECO Energy personnel arrived.

Firefighters remained on the scene until 02:47 hours.

Units operating on the scene were:  Engine 44-4, Ambulance 44-7, Medic 106, Springfield Police.

In a related matter, the Phillies won Game 5, 8-6 and now trail the New York Yankees 3-2 as the series shifts back to New York for Game 6 on Wednesday night.  GO PHILS!!
