Off Night from Weekly Training
|
|
| Springfield Firefighters spent Tuesday night, October 20th, around the firehouse. The difference this Tuesday night was the crew was taking a break from the weekly training that is held each Tuesday night. The Members were treated to a Italian feast prepared by Deputy Chief Michael Huczko (aka - Momma Huczko).
The seasonal events, referred to locally as Momma Huczko Nights, allow the members to sit back, relax and enjoy a good home cooked meal, something that gets interrupted from time to time throughout the year. Many stories are passed around the dinner tables, allowing the old timers to remember the "Big Ones" and letting the newer members know just how "old" these old timers really are these days. The menu was once again a great selection of Italian dishes, but much of the menu cannot be discussed due to many secret family recipes.
After all members were filled to capacity, Springfield Fire Company extended the feast to our friends at the County 911 Center. A special dinner delivery was made "Code Red" to the 911 Center in Middletown Township.
The members are already marking their calendars for the next Momma Huczko Night, the Winter Feast!
