Captain Thomas Receives Valor Award


On Tuesday, October 12th, Springfield Township Commissioners recognized Captain Keith D. Thomas by awarding him the Valor Award. The award was given for Captain Thomas's knowledge and experience for diverting  a tragedy at Scully Welding Supply in Collingdale Borough on September 1st, 2010.
 
Collingdale Police Chief Bob Adams, Collingdale #1 Fire Chief Colin McCann and  Collingdale #2 Fire Chief John T. Moors were also on hand to present Keith with a plaque and the remains of a propane tank from the fire.  Chief Adams talked about the worst possible outcome and how that was changed due to the recommendations and actions of Captain Thomas.  Members of the Fire Company and Captain Thomas's family were in attendance for this award.

Captain Thomas is the second person in the history of Springfield Fire Company to receive the Valor Award.
