Head-On Crash on Beatty Road

Springfield Firefighters were alerted on Friday night, September 25th, at 21:28 hours to the 900 Block of Beatty Road for a Motor Vehicle Accident with Fire.  Upon arrival of Chief 44-9 and Springfield Police, there was a two vehicle, head-on crash with fire inside the engine compartment of one vehicle.  Springfield Police used dry chemical extinguishers to contain the fire until Engine 44-4 arrived on location and handled the fire with a booster line.

Firefighters secured all the hazards on the scene while EMS personnel from Ambulance 44-7A and Medic 106 (Springfield Hospital) evaluated three occupants from the vehicles.

All three individuals were transported to hospital by Ambulance 44-7A and 44-7.

Firefighters remained on the scene until 22:13 hours.

Units operating on the scene were: Engine 44-4, Engine 44-1, Utility 44, Ambulance 44-7 & 44-7A, Medic 106, Springfield Police, Nether Providence Police and Springfield Fire Police.
