RIT Assignment on the Dwelling Fire in Norwood

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Sunday, September 14th, at 20:29 hours for the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) to assist Norwood Fire Company (Company 02) at 300 Meghan Place, Norwood Borough for a Dwelling Fire.  Upon arrival of initial units from Company 02, Company 05 (Glenolden), Company 08 (Prospect) and Company 43 (Holmes), fire was showing the from the rear of a two story twin dwelling.

Firefighters from Rescue 44 arrived on the scene, performed a walk-around of the fire scene, staged the RIT equipment and stood by on the scene.  Firefighters working on the scene were able to contain the fire to the first floor rear area of the dwelling.

Springfield Firefighters stood by on location for an hour and no services were required from the RIT Team.  Rescue 44 was released by Company 02 Command and Rescue 44 was back in service at 21:44 hours.
