Fire at Woodland Avenue Business Complex

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched early Monday morning, September 7th, at 4:45 hours to 1260 East Woodland Avenue for a Building Fire. Upon arrival of Chief 44-9B, there was smoke showing inside the loading dock area of large business complex and the sprinkler system was activated.
Firefighters from Engine 44-1 started looking for the source and located a small fire controlled by the sprinkler system in one of the businesses. Firefighters from Tower 44 assisted with checking for any fire extension. The fire was contained to the ceiling area above a restroom in the business.
Chief 44-9 had Companies 11 (Morton) and 13 (Rutledge) dispatched to assist with the ventilation. Firefighters from Engine 03-1 (Clifton Heights) assisted on the scene while firefighters from Snorkel 23 (Media) stood by as the Rapid Intervention Team.
Firefighters remained on the scene until 06:00 hours.
Units operating on the scene were: Engine 44-1, Tower 44, Rescue 44, Engine 03-1, Snorkel 23, Engine 11-2, Engine 13-1, Ambulance 44-7, Medic 106 (Springfield Hospital), Springfield Police and Springfield Township Fire Marshal Car 1.
