Final Inspection Trip for New Squad 44

On Tuesday, September 1st, seven members from Springfield Fire Company headed to Sutphen Corporation in Columbus, Ohio to make the final inspection on the 2009 Sutphen Rescue-Pumper, Squad 44. The final inspection trip is to complete any issues with the construction of the apparatus and to make sure all work was completed according to the apparatus specifications contract. Final acceptance of the apparatus will take place at Station 44 once the vehicle is delivered in satisfactory condition.
The inspection trip was also a training session on the new fire pump and foam system.
The delivery date for the new rescue pumper has been set for Saturday, September 12th, between 11am and 12pm at Station 44. The apparatus is planned to be In Service by the end of October once driver training, equipment mounting and vehicle identification lettering has been completed.
Springfield Fire Company will have an informal open house at Station 44 during the delivery on Saturday, September 12th. Anyone wishing to stop by and see the new apparatus is welcome to visit.
