Car Slams into Traffic Light on State Road

Springfield Fire Company was alerted late Saturday night at 23:50 hours to a Motor Vehicle Accident on State Road (Route 1) at Collins Drive. Upon arrival of Chief 44-9B, there was a two vehicle accident and one vehicle had struck the traffic light on the Northbound side of the highway.
Engine 44-4 arrived on location and provided scene lighting while firefighters secured all the hazards with the vehicles involved. EMS personnel from Ambulance 44-7 and Medic 106 evaluated the driver of one vehicle who was transported to the hospital.
Firefighters remained on the scene until 00:20 hours.
Units operating on the scene were: Engine 44-4, Ambulance 44-7, Medic 106, Springfield Police and Fire Police.
