Springfield Fire Company was dispatched with Company 53 (Broomall) on Monday, August 17th, at 23:35 hours to I-476 at the Route 1 Interchange for a Vehicle Fire. Upon arrival of Chief 44-9B, there was a vehicle in the Southbound lanes of I-476 with an engine compartment well involved.
Chief 44-9B had Engine 53-2 place an 1 3/4" hose line into service. Engine 44-4 arrived on location and assisted the crew from Engine 53-2.
Firefighters from Company 44 remained on the scene until 00:05 hours.
Units operating on the scene were: Engine 44-4 and Engine 53-2. Pennsylvania State Police arrived on the scene after the fire was under control.
