Engine Assists on Dwelling Fire in Newtown Square

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Sunday, August 16th, at 05:45 hours to provide Stand By coverage at Station 53 (Broomall). Company 53 was assisting Company 41 (Newtown Square) on a dwelling fire in the Unit Block of Rockwood Road in Newtown Township.
Engine 44-1 while enroute to Station 53 was given orders to respond into the fire scene. The fire involved a one story raised ranch single family dwelling. Firefighters from Engine 44-1 provided additional manpower on the scene and assisted with overhaul and salvage operations.
Firefighters operated on the scene until 08:00 hours.
Companies operating on the scene were: Companies 41, 53, 73 (Rose Tree), 23 (Media), 45 (Parkside), 15 (Radnor), and 58 (Bon Air).
