Annual Corn Boil

Springfield Fire Company held the Company Corn Boil on Tuesday, August 11th at the Springfield Country Club.  The annual event is a time for the members of Springfield Fire Company, both active and active from years gone by, to relax and enjoy a good night of food and fun.

Members from surrounding fire companies, that help out Springfield Fire Company through out the year, are invited guests and they once again enjoyed the food and the brotherhood.

Having been held on a Tuesday night in August since the early days of the Fire Company, the Corn Boil is a welcomed break from the Tuesday night training that is held throughout the year.  For the second straight year, some members from Springfield, along with a few guests from surrounding fire company, made the day a little longer by starting off with a round of golf at Springfield Country Club before heading to the Corn Boil.

Clifton Heights Fire Company provided stand by coverage for Springfield Township during the evening.

Special thanks to Deputy Chief Michael Huczko for the many stories that were told during the entire evening.  Congratulations also go out to Bill "Bear" Maguire from Broomall Fire Company for winning the Best Dressed Award, way to go Bear!
