Flooding Conditions During Summer Thunderstorms
|
The Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Sunday, August 8th, at 11:00 hours to West Rolling Road and Rutherford Drive to monitor hazardous flooding conditions during the morning storms. The residents in the area are all to familiar with the bad flooding conditions that can happen when excessive rain hits the area. This is the same area that had 6 homes damaged by Hurricane Floyd back in September 1999. Those homes were eventually bought out by the Federal Government and the area was turned into park land.
