New Squad 44 Nearing Completion

The Apparatus Committee for the new Squad 44, a 2009 Sutphen Rescue Pumper, completed an inspection trip on Thursday, July 30th at the Supthen Corporation Plant in Columbus, Ohio.  The apparatus is replacing the 1999 Sutphen Rescue Pumper (TAC 44) which was sold in December, 2008.

The committee performed a scheduled inspection trip to make sure that the unit specifications of the apparatus are being completed following the contract that was signed between the Springfield Township Fireman's Relief Association and Sutphen Corporation in 2008.  Funding for the apparatus has been provided by the Relief Association and the sale of the 1999 Sutphen rescue pumper.

The tenative completion date is late August, 2009.  The apparatus will have vehicle identification lettering installed at Station 44 before being placed into service sometime in October, 2009.
