Gas Line Ruptures
Springfield Fire Company assisted PECO on a punctured gas main at the intersection of West Sproul Road and Kennerly Road at 1100 hours on Thursday, July 24th. The crew from Engine 44-1 was assigned to stretch a 1 3/4" line to protect the PECO gas crew working on the blowing gas main. Tower 44 and Engine 14-1 (Swarthmore) checked Harley Manor and the surrounding area for possible gas migration. Traffic on West Sproul Road was detoured for a short period of time. The PECO crew secured the leak and the company was back in service at 1146 hours.
