Passenger Confined in Overturned Vehicle

Springfield Firefighters were alerted to a Motor Vehicle Accident with Entrapment in the 200 Block of Ballymore Road on Wednesday, July 21st at 1134 hours. Upon arrival of Springfield PD and Chief 44-9, there was a two vehicle accident at the intersection of West Leamy Avenue and Ballymore Road and one vehicle was on it's side with one passenger still inside the vehicle.

Firefighters from Squad 44 started stablizing the vehicle and provided access for EMS personnel from Ambulance 44-7 and Medic 106 to assess the injured passenger.  Firefighters from Rescue 44 and Rescue 43 (Holmes) provided additional stablization of the vehicle and assisted the crew from Squad 44 with removing the injured passenger from the vehicle.  Ambulance 44-7 and Medic 106 transported the injured passenger to Crozer Chester Medical Center's Trauma Unit.

Squad 44 remained on the scene until the vehicle was uprighted and cleared the scene at 1234 hours.
