Vehicle Fire Well Involved on Route 1

On Saturday, July 17th at 1645 hours, Springfield Fire Company was dispatched to a Vehicle Fire at the intersection of South State Road (Route 1) and Collins Drive. Chief 44-9B (Huczko) arrived on location with a fully involved dump truck and had Firefighters from Squad 44 pull a 1 3/4 hose line to extinguish the fire. Firefighters quickly controlled the fire and remained on the scene for about 20 minutes.
Units operating on the scene: Engine 44-4, Ambulance 44-7A, Springfield Police and Fire Police.
