Grill Fire on Harned Drive

On Tuesday, July 7th at 17:54 hours, as Springfield Firefighters were preparing for a barbecue of their own, the Fire Company was dispatched to the 100 Block of Harned Drive for a Propane Grill Fire.  Engine 44-1 arrived on location and found a propane grill on fire in the rear yard of the residence.

Firefighters from Engine 44-1 stretched an 1 3/4" hose line to control the fire and also to help disperse the propane gas that was leaking from around the tank connection.  The cause of the fire was a hose line to the propane tank that was not properly connected.  There was no damage sustained to the dwelling.

Firefighters remained on the scene until 18:24 hours.
