Injured Golfer on 14th Hole

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Friday, July 3rd at 17:57 hours, to assist Springfield Ambulance at the Springfield Country Club Golf Course. Ambulance 44-7 and Medic 106 (Springfield Hospital) were treating a golfer who had fallen into the creek on the 14th hole of the golf course. EMS personnel needed manpower assistance to get the injured golfer out of the creek.
Utility 44 arrived on location thru a maintenance access road off Country Club Drive and loaded up equipment on maintenance vehicles to travel down to the creek area of the 14th hole. Springfield firefighters from Utility 44 and Engine 44-4 assisted EMS personnel with packaging the patient into a Stokes rescue basket. The injured golfer was secured in the rear bed area of Utility 44 and transported up the steep hill of the 14th and 15th holes to the location of Ambulance 44-7 near the maintenance facility.
Ambulance 44-7 and Medic 106 transported the patient to Crozer Chester Medical Center Trauma Unit.
Units operating on the scene were: Utility 44, Engine 44-4, Ambulance 44-7, Medic 106 and Springfield Police.
