Septa Bus Accident on Route 1

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Friday, June 26th to South State Road (Route 1) and I-476 for a Motor Vehicle Accident involving a Septa Bus.  Upon arrival of Chief 44-9B, the call was located in Marple Township at I-476 involving a Septa Bus versus a Box Truck.  The Septa bus had struck the rear of the box truck.  Chief 44-9B had Company 53 (Broomall) and Marple EMS dispatched to assist due to the location of the incident.

Engine 44-4 arrived on location and checked both vehicles and assisted EMS with checking all the passengers.  The Septa bus had twelve passengers on board and 5 required medical attention.  The driver of the box truck was also injured during the accident.
 
EMS personnel from Ambulance 14-7 (Swarthmore) was covering for Springfield Ambulance, Ambulance 56-7 (Manoa) and Ambulance 23-7 (Media) assisted on the scene.

Units operating on the scene were:  Engine 44-4, Rescue 53, Traffic 53, Ambulance and Medic 53, Ambulance 14-7, Ambulance 56-7, Ambulance 23-7, Springfield and Marple Township Police and Fire Police.
