Cover Up Assignment for Quarryville Fire Company


Springfield Fire Company headed out early Saturday morning, June 6th, with 9 members on Engine 44-4 and Utility 44 to provide stand-by coverage for Quarryville Fire Company, Lancaster County (Station 5-7) while they hosted the 89th Annual Lancaster County Fireman's Parade.

Engine 44 and Utility 44 provided coverage along with Columbia and Martins Corner Fire Companies.

Engine 44 and Utility 44 also won Best Appearing trophies during the parade and the Fire Company also won Longest Distance Traveled for the Parade.

Springfield Fire Company was thankful to return the favor of covering Quarryville Fire Company.  They provided stand-by coverage for Springfield when the Fire Company was out of service to attend the funeral services of fallen Lt. Nicolas Picozzi of the Lower Chester Fire Company in March of 2008.
