Passing of Chief Cris Hansen
|
Springfield Fire Company wishes to extend our condolences to the family and friends of Chief Cris Hansen as well as our fellow firefighters at Swarthmore Fire and Protective Association. Chief Cris Hansen passed away on Thursday, June 5th, 2008 and was laid to rest on Saturday, June 14th, 2008 after a long and hard fought battle with cancer. Chief Hansen was instrumental in many ways with the Fire Service in Delaware County along with the EMS services. Chief Hansen was dedicated to both his personal family and his firefighting family. Chief Hansen continued to advance the training and education of his Company and himself even when he knew that his days were becoming fewer with us. One of Chief Hansen's last days here, Cris graciously witnessed the ground breaking ceremony for the Delaware County Fire and EMS Memorial at Rose Tree Park on May 29th, 2008. Chief Hansen touched the lives of many people in the Fire and EMS community in Delaware County and beyond. Chief 14-9 has returned home, rest easy brother.
