Firefighters Extricate Driver on State Road

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched on Tuesday, May 26th at 22:04 hours to South State Road (Route 1) and West Springfield Road for a Motor Vehicle Accident.  Upon arrival of Chief 44-9B and Springfield Police, there was a two car accident and one vehicle came to rest in the parking lot of the East Coast Gas Station on State Road.  The driver of one vehicle needed to be extricated from the vehicle by firefighters.

Firefighters from Engine 44-4 and Rescue 44 quickly removed the driver's side door to provide room for EMS personnel from Ambulance 44-7 and Medic 106 (Springfield Hospital) to remove the driver.  Firefighters assisted EMS personnel with removing the driver.  The driver was transported to Crozer Chester Medical Center Trauma Center

Firefighters remained on the scene until 22:34 hours.

Units operating on the scene were:  Engine 44-4,Rescue 44, Utility 44, Ambulance 44-7, Medic 106, Springfield Police and Fire Police.
