RIT 44 Responds on Deck Fire in Collingdale

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched for RIT 44 on Sunday, May 9th at 1421 hours along with Company 06 (Collingdale #1) and Company 42 (Collingdale #2) for the Dwelling Fire in the 700 Block of Pusey Avenue.  Upon arrival of initial units, the rear deck of a twin home was on fire with the fire extending into the home and to a neighboring deck.  Firefighters from Company 06 and 42 quickly went to work to contain the fast moving fire and preventing further spread into the exposures.

Firefighters on Rescue 44 set-up for RIT (Rapid Intervention Team) upon arrival and staged on the front side of the building.  Firefighters sized up the scene for any hazards and stood by for 15 minutes before being released by Company 06 Command.
