Rescue 44 Called for RIT in Glenolden

Springfield Fire Company was dispatched for the RIT (Rapid Intervention Team) assignment early Saturday morning, May 1st, at 0621 hours, to assist Glenolden Fire Company (Company 05) in the unit block of West Cooke Avenue, Glenolden Boro, for a Dwelling Fire.  Firefighters were battling a fire in a three story single family dwelling with fire showing from the rear of the structure on multiple floors.

Rescue 44 responded with 6 firefighters and upon arrival on the scene, set up the RIT equipment on the front side of the dwelling.  Firefighters from Rescue 19 (Lansdowne) set up in the rear of the dwelling and assisted with the RIT assignment.  Springfield Firefighters removed exterior security bars from some basement windows on the dwelling while doing a safety size up of the structure.

Springfield Firefighters stood by on the fireground until 08:30 hours.
