Springfield Firefighters responded on Tuesday, April 26th at 1056 hours to the 500 Block of West Woodland Avenue for a Lawn Tractor on Fire. Upon arrival of Chief 44-9, there was a riding lawn mower burning in the rear of the residence and in close proximity to a storage shed.
Squad 44 arrived on location and proceeded up a long driveway to the residence. Firefighters stretched an 1 3/4" hose line and quickly contained the fire. Firefighters from Engine 44-4 assisted on the scene.
Firefighters remained on the scene until 11:26 hours.
Units operating on the scene were: Squad 44, Engine 44-4, Ambulance 44-7, Springfield Police and Fire Police.
