Southeastern PA Regional Task Force Drill

Springfield Fire Company participated in the Southeastern Pennsylvania Regional Task Force Drill on Saturday, April 25th.  The Task Force has been established within the 5 county Metro Philadelphia area for mutual aid assistance between counties.  The 5 counties involved are Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.

The Delaware County Regional Task Force Team has been assembled with various Fire Companies and members throughout the county that are trained to the basic level of requirements established by the Task Force.  Springfield Fire Company has approxmately 15 members that meet the requirements.  5 members participated in the exercise.

The Delaware County Task Force was dispatched at 07:00 hours on April 25th and assembled at the predetermined location of Marple Crossroads Shopping Center, Marple Township.  Once all required apparatus and personnel arrived, the Delco Task Force headed to the Philadelphia Fire Academy in Northeast Philadelphia for the training exercise.

This was the first training exercise where all 5 counties participated.  The exercise was an introduction to the Regional Task Force goals and objectives.  Training sessions were also held on communications and review of the water distribution system in Philadelphia.
