Firefighters Extricate Driver on Baltimore Pike

Springfield Fire Comany was dispatched on Wednesday, April 21st at 22:00 to Baltimore Pike and North Avenue for a Motor Vehicle Accident. Upon arrival of Chief 44-9B (Huczko), there was a two vehicle accident in front of 122 Baltimore Pike with one driver being trapped inside the vehicle. The call was upgraded to a Motor Vehicle Accident with Entrapment.
Squad 44 arrived on location and stabilized the vehicle and set-up for Rescue Operations. EMS personnel from Ambulance 44-7 and Medic 106 (Springfield Hospital) handled medical care for the trapped driver. Firefighters from Rescue 44 assisted the crew from Squad 44 with the Holmatro Rescue tools to remove the driver's side door of the vehicle to allow for removal of the driver. Firefighters assisted EMS personnel with removing the driver from the vehicle.
Firefighters remained on the scene until 22:45 hours.
