Annual Dinner Dance and Awards Ceremony

On Saturday, April 17th, the membership of Springfield Fire Company gathered at the Drexelbrook Banquet Hall for the Annual Dinner Dance and Awards Ceremony.  The annual event is held to pay a tribute to all the hard work and countless hours put into Springfield Fire Company by the members during 2009.  Members young and old, active firefighters and life members, spouses and girlfriends, quests from neighboring Fire Companies and elected officials all enjoyed a fine dinner and entertainment put together by the Dinner Dance Committee.

During the Dinner Dance, the annual awards ceremony for the previous year is held to honor the members for their continued commitment to Springfield Fire Company and the citizens of Springfield Township and surrounding communities.

For the Year 2009, the following awards were presented:

Top Four Fire Police Responders:  Robert Sinkinson, Joe Carroll, Milt Sinkinson, George Farrelly (not present)

Top Ten Firefighters Responders:  Ryan Ranieri, Matthew LeTourneau, Sean Devlin, John Devlin, Steve Edwards, John Spencer, Anne LeTourneau, Bob Bansept, Patrick Klaus, Jay Logan

Chief’s Award – Robert Sinkinson

President’s Award – Edward Clapper

Life Membership Awards (20 Years of Membership and 10+ Years of Active Service)  – Ed Abel Jr. and Ray Kreszswick

The final awards to be presented were the Life Commitment Award, also known as the Blue Flame Award.  Three members of Springfield Fire Company were presented the Award for 50 years of service to Springfield Fire Company.  The recipients were:  Steve Burns, Jake Hackett and John Gallagher.  Presenting the awards to the three honorees was past recipients of the Life Commitment Award Don Burke, Paul Schaum and Jim Gallagher.

Springfield Fire Company would like to thank all the members, past and present, that have made and continue to make Springfield Fire Company one of the Best.
