Vehicle Fire at Township Building

Springfield Fire Company responded to a Vehicle Fire at the Township Building, 50 Powell Road, Sunday evening, April 12th, at 21:07 hours.  The initial 911 calls came from a residence on Fairview Road reporting a box truck on fire in the Township Building parking lot.  Upon arrival of Chief 44-9B and Springfield Police, a small fire was found involving the Springfield Youth Cougar's Football equipment van.

Engine 44-4 arrived on location and strecthed a booster hose line to quickly extinguish the small fire.  Firefighters checked the rest of the vehicle and found the fire to be contained to the right front passenger tire.  The fire is under investigation by Springfield Township Fire Marshal's Office and Springfield Police.

Firefighter remained on the scene until 09:37 hours.

Units operating on the scene were:  Engine 44-4, Engine 44-1 and Springfield Police.
